I alredy tried to re-install the Excel-Add-in

but no success.

I also tried opening directly

Document ID:

Product:
TestDirector for Quality Center

OS:

When using the Excel macro to export data into a TestDirector project, the following error message appears:

"Compile error in hidden module: CTDServers."

Diagnosis:The macro may not have been started properly or the appropriate library is not being used.

This can happen for TestDirector or TestDirector for Quality Center.

Solution
Open the TDExcelAddin.xla file manually and/or use appropriate COM library

Open the TDExcelAddin.xla file manually:

1. Open Excel.
2. Go to File -> Open.
3. Open your "\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\XLStart\TDExcelAddin.xla" file.

The problem should go away after doing this once.

If the problem still persists, then try the following:

1. Within Excel, Go to Tools -> Macro -> Visual Basic Editor.
2. Select VBAProject TDExcelAddin.xla (highlight). (please contact Mercury Interactive support for the default password)
3. Go to Tools -> References.
4. Scroll down to OTA 8.0 COM API Library (Or 9.0 depending on version of QC), move it up in the list and make sure it is selected.

This should resolve the macro error.

If the problem still persist, proceed to un-install and re-install the Excel Macro.

1. Select Start -> Settings -> Add/Remove Programs.
2. Select "TestDirector Microsoft Excel Add-in" to un-install the Excel Macro.
3. Download and re-install the Excel Macro from the TestDirector Add-in page.
